Up till now the Museum and Place of Remembrance has been visited by over 25 million people throughout the whole world. From the early nineties every year the Museum is visited by over half a million people, nearly half of them are Poles, mainly the Polish youth. From abroad, from over 100 countries of the world, arrives nearly 250 thousand tourists (the majority from the USA, Europe and Asia). Entrance is gratis. The Museum is open 7 days a week in the following hours: * 8:00 - 15:00 16th December – February * 8:00 - 16:00 March, November – 15th December * 8:00 - 17:00 April, October * 8:00 - 18:00 May, September * 8:00 - 19:00 June, July, August * Entry for the place of memory Auschwitz-Birkenau is free. * Visitors coming in organised groups are obliged to hire a guide. * Individuals are allowed to hire a guide. * For individuals there is a possibility of arranging a group tour with a guide * In the information point we kindly ask for providing the information, for statistic purposes, about the amount of people visiting and the country where they come from. * Taking pictures and filming for private purposes is free. In all other cases a prior contact with the Museum is necessary. * It isn’t recommended for children under the age of 13 to visit the Museum. Tour for individuals: 11 PLN with a guide Tour for groups: 115 PLN for a group up to 15 people with a guide 134 PLN for a group between 16 and 30 people with a guide Time of the tour up to 3.5 hours. * In the season time (from 15th April to 31 October) to the cost of hiring a guide there’s an additional fee for the bus fare for getting to and back from Birkenau.
